Generous Teesside firms and their staff have stepped forward to help locals who are homeless this Christmas – by filling shoe boxes full of essentials.
Friends of charitable movement Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation filled more than 120 shoe boxes to be given to locals who are suffering homelessness or hardship issues.
The essentials will be given out at In Out of the Cold, a Middlesbrough Council event taking place at the Town Hall Crypt on Tuesday, December 23.
The event will feature hot food, live music and raffle prizes to bring a little festive cheer in a relaxed, friendly environment for those affected by homelessness or hardship.
The Philanthropic Foundation coordinated the support of patrons the Endeavour Partnership, AV Dawson, Evolution Business and Tax Advisors, Hunters Teesside, px Group, Unasys, Visualsoft and Henderson Insurance Brokers.
Business group BNI also supported the collection.
Local business White Wash Laboratories donated 100 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste, Thornaby firm MI Supplies provided 100 hats and pairs of gloves, while Charles Clinkard donated 100 shoe boxes.
Jamie Brown, a partner at the Endeavour Partnership, said: “We are proud to be involved in this project. We always take our corporate social responsibility very seriously, but this project particularly resonated with the staff as one where it was important to try to make a difference for those who need support at this time of year.”
