We shall be running: Erimus duo Ian Miller and Matthew Doak prepare for the SABIC Tees Pride 10k in aid of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.

STAFF from an insurance company named after Middlesbrough’s town motto are showing their passion for Teesside by running the SABIC Tees Pride 10k for a unique local charity.
Ian Miller and Matthew Doak of Erimus Insurance Brokers will run the popular 10k in aid of groundbreaking Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
Based in Stockton’s Preston Farm Business Park, Erimus are generous corporate patrons of the Foundation, along with many other local businesses and individuals.
Director Ian and IT and marketing coordinator Matthew are stepping out with the aim of raising more money in support of the Foundation’s backing for the Evening Gazette’s Wish Sport campaign.
The Foundation has promised to donate £30,000 to Wish Sport, giving dozens of local not-for-profit sports clubs a chance to gain a share of the cash jackpot for much-needed funds.
Ian, who represented Yorkshire at the triple jump in national schoolboy championships.  said: “As independent insurance brokers, the Erimus roots are here on Teesside. We’re a local firm with local staff and many loyal local customers, so keeping funds for good causes here in the Tees Valley is perfect for Erimus.
“That’s what the Philanthropic Foundation is all about – supporting local causes in these difficult times, so Matthew and I will wear our Foundation T-shirts with pride on September 8.
“Clients have already been very generous with their sponsorship, while we’ll also be chasing our colleagues who bottled out of joining us on the run to dig deep for the charity!
“I’ve never run more than 1,500 metres in my life and I haven’t run any distance apart from when playing football since I was 16, so it will be tough going but I’m looking forward to the 10k.”
Philanthropic Foundation chairman Andy Preston, who will be joining Ian and 19-year-old Matthew on the 10k, would love to hear from more people interested in taking part in aid of the Wish Sport campaign.
“The Foundation is all about making a real difference to the lives of local people and letting the outside world know Teesside is a great place to live, work and do business,” he said.
“We’re delighted that staff from Erimus are joining their fellow Foundation patrons at px Group and Active Financial by taking part in the sponsored 10k.”
If you would like to run the 10k in aid of the Philanthropic Foundation and the Wish Sport campaign, email info@teessidecharity.org.uk or visit www.teessidecharity.org.uk.
