Global tech firm Causeway is the latest business to help our charity bounce back from the Covid crisis by backing us as Patrons.
The newcomers to thriving offices in Middlesbrough’s Centre Square have gone from strength to strength recently and were determined to share their good fortune by giving back to the local community.
Chief technology officer Charlie Pickering, who was instrumental in creating Causeway’s centre of excellence in Middlesbrough, bringing with it new jobs for the region, has always believed in supporting the areas where the company are based.
Becoming Patrons of the Foundation is also poignant for Charlie as he was born and raised on Teesside.
“It’s important for us as a company to do our bit,” he said. “My gaffer, Phil Brown, who is a Scouser, gives to a charity in his hometown of Liverpool, but for me it was important that we support Middlesbrough – and who better to give our support to than the Philanthropic Foundation?
“We know the charity is trustworthy and that the money received goes directly to the people who need it the most.”
Causeway became Patrons after backing our successful Digital Poverty Appeal with an incredibly generous £25,000 donation.
“For Causeway, the Digital Poverty Campaign really hit a nerve, said Charlie. “As an IT company, it made complete sense to help out in this way.
“To also become Patrons and be able to see the impact of our donation and how it is maximised in the local community is fantastic.”
