The news that the cost of fuel is shooting up is a worry for everyone, but for the neediest people in our region, rising prices could mean the choice between feeding their families or keeping warm.
To do what we can to alleviate some of the pressures, The Teesside Charity has purchased a number of £30 vouchers from the Fuelbank Foundation. The vouchers can be used by those with pre-payment metres to top up their electricity and gas.
We have already distributed a number of vouchers and we plan to continue to liaise with local schools and charities to ensure that they get to those families who need them the most, until the warmer weather comes.
Thanks again to our supporters, whose generosity in backing our work makes this kind of action possible.
