73-year-old Mike Newton from Great Ayton is currently riding 1000 miles from Land’s End to John o’Groats to raise money and awareness for The Teesside Charity.

For the first four days of his travels, Mike was joined by his friend Jeff, who cycled 242 miles along the route. However, Jeff has returned home, and Mike has been joined by another of his friends, Bill. Bill will join Mike for six days until they reach Balloch, and then Mike will complete the rest of the journey on his own.

So far, 73-year-old Mike has ridden an impressive 627 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats! He is presently in Abington, which means he is halfway to completing LEJOG!

Mike has published fascinating videos on YouTube that depict his daily routes, showing you exactly how far he is riding. If you would like to watch these videos, you can do so by clicking here.
