The Tears And Messages That Say ‘Thank You’

Published on: 4th May 2020

Grateful tears of relief and appreciation – that’s the emotion that tells you how vital is the support we’re giving (with your financial help) to families suffering desperate financial struggles during the Covid crisis,
Thanks to the incredibly generous donations from local companies and individuals, we’ve now distributed almost £10,000-worth of £25 shopping vouchers to the most disadvantaged families – helping to put food on the table for Teesside children.
We’ve joined forces with more than 40 Teesside schools to ensure the vouchers have gone to those who truly need the vouchers – many of whom have lost their jobs and have been left in a desperate financial struggle.
We’ve heard about one lady who broke down in tears as she told the school “We don’t deserve this – but thank you.” They’d never needed charity or benefits before – but both parents had lost their jobs amid the crisis.
And our picture is from Ayresome Primary School in Middlesbrough. Parent support advisor Angela Doran and acting head teacher Amy Goring told us: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Teesside Philanthropic Foundation for their generosity towards our families during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you!”
One family told us: “I would just like to say thank you! Me and my partner have just had to make a claim for universal credit and, with everything all over at the moment, this is a great help to us and our 3 children. Thank you again and stay safe.”
Another wrote to say: “You have just donated some e-vouchers to my daughter’s school and we got selected to receive a £25 voucher. Me and my family are just getting in touch to say a huge, huge thank you, we really appreciate it and you wouldnt believe how much it’s helped. Thank you so much, from me & and my 5 girls. You your amazing!”
And another wrote: “I can’t express how grateful I am – thank you so much for this. It was a massive help and I mean it was a MASSIVE help. Thank you again. God bless you.”
Thank you everyone for your support – your generosity really is making a difference to the lives of Teesside people who most need our help.
