Details

The Stockton Wheelers hold inclusive cycling sessions at Middlesbrough Sport Village. The sessions are aimed at riders of any age with a disability that prevents them from taking part in cycling activities without assistance. The sessions have become increasing popular and they now require additional volunteers to ensure we provide sufficient support.

The club has several types of adapted bikes to support a wide range of disabilities which include tandems, hand cycles, recumbents, solo tricycles, tandem tricycles and side by side bikes.  The sessions take place on Saturday afternoons twice per month between 1pm and 4pm.

They require additional volunteers to walk alongside riders on tricycles or follow a timetable to help keep things on track, meet and greet, and provide helmets as required.

The sessions take place on Saturday afternoons twice per month between 1pm and 4pm.

Most of the riders have autism or leaning disabilities and are very easy to work with.

It is very rewarding to see how much the riders enjoy the sessions and improve every week in many ways as the cycling provides many benefits.

Everything is provided. Volunteers are requested to wear comfortable clothes and suitable shoes for walking in.
