Nepacs is a North East charity with over 140 years of experience working within criminal justice. The charity supports individuals affected by the criminal justice and care systems and has expanded its reach to include services for children and adults from all walks of life, including those with care experience. Nepacs offers emotional support, resilience-building, and practical information to those in need, with much of their work delivered by volunteers who bring warmth, energy, and understanding in the most difficult circumstances.
Nepacs is currently seeking Tea Bar Volunteers to provide essential refreshments to families and prisoners during visits at HMP Kirklevington Grange. Volunteers will play a crucial role in creating a social and relaxed atmosphere in the visits room, helping families and prisoners connect and share valuable time together over a cup of tea.
The Tea Bar Volunteer role is about more than just providing refreshments. It is vital in maintaining and strengthening relationships between prisoners and their families during visits, which are often a highlight in their lives. By offering a welcoming and supportive environment, volunteers help enhance the quality of these visits and contribute to the well-being of everyone involved.
This role is based inside the prison visits hall, allowing volunteers to interact with families and prisoners in a meaningful way.
Nepacs will provide training and arrange a DBS check for all volunteers.
If you are kind, approachable, and want to make a positive impact on the lives of prisoners and their families, Nepacs would love to have you as a part of their team.
