Footprints in the Community is a charity dedicated to supporting people living in Redcar and Cleveland. Their mission is to reduce poverty and isolation, improve health and wellbeing, and offer hope for the future.

About the Roles
1. Treasury Trustee
Footprints in the Community is looking for a Treasury Trustee to join their Board of Trustees. This voluntary role involves overseeing and supporting their Finance Officer, providing advice and guidance as necessary, and performing spot checks on petty cash. The trustee will also liaise with their accountant regarding the annual accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the Finance Officer.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to the Board.
- Perform spot checks on petty cash.
- Liaise with the accountant to ensure accurate preparation of annual accounts.
2. Legal Support Trustee
As Footprints in the Community continues to grow, they are seeking a Legal Support Trustee to join their team. This role is vital to ensuring the organisation operates within the law and receives expert legal advice to guide its operations and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend trustee meetings (usually the 3rd Monday of alternate months at 10 am, at The Wilton Centre, Wilton, R & C).
- Participate in sub-group meetings as required (usually held at 10 Queen Street, Redcar).
- Provide legal advice and guidance to ensure the organisation operates lawfully.
- Review and develop policies and procedures to comply with legal standards in areas such as equal opportunities, health and safety, safeguarding, and recruitment.
- Assist with legal matters such as contracts, governance, and compliance with charity law.
General Responsibilities for All Trustees:
The trustees are collectively responsible for the running of the organisation and are expected to:
- Ensure the organisation meets the needs of the people it supports.
- Oversee and manage the charity’s finances, including agreeing on a budget.
- Ensure the organisation has adequate insurance and operates within the law.
- Monitor and evaluate the organisation’s performance.
- Develop and review policies in key areas, ensuring employees and volunteers are treated fairly.
