Billingham & Stockton foodbank are looking for dedicated volunteers to help support our local foodbank in providing vital assistance to families in need. As a volunteer, you will play an essential role in ensuring that all incoming stock is properly checked, weighed, and recorded. Your attention to detail will help us maintain accurate records and ensure that the food we distribute is safe and of high quality.
In addition to managing incoming stock, you will assist in sorting food by its type and expiration date. Any damaged or out-of-date items will need to be removed, and you will be responsible separating these items accordingly. This process is crucial to ensuring that only the best food reaches those who rely on our support.
Volunteers will also help maintain a clean and tidy warehouse environment, ensuring that stock is organised and accessible. As part of your role, you will prepare stock orders for distribution to our foodbank centres. Some lifting may be required, so please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance when handling heavier items. Your contribution will make a direct impact on the community, and we are grateful for the support of our volunteers.
