Details

Footprints in the Community supports people living in Redcar and Cleveland to help reduce poverty and isolation and improve health and wellbeing.

Footprints run a number of projects, including Redcar Area Foodbank, Next Step Shop, First Steps, Footprints Community Café and The Shed. You can find out more about our projects at www.footprintsinthecommunity.co.uk/projects/

The Shed is a project of Footprints in the Community. It is a sociable woodworking shop and creative space, for anyone over the age of 18. Members can work on their own projects in an informal and supportive environment. Bespoke items are also made for members of the public and local organisations.

If you’ve got woodworking or general crafting skills and experience that you’d like to share, we are looking to recruit a number of new volunteers, including:

  • General session volunteers – helping with the running of our regular woodworking sessions and supporting members with their own craft projects,
  • Community project volunteers – undertaking custom projects either in the workshop or out in the community, to customer specifications, or making items to sell to raise funds for The Shed,

· Workshop volunteers – helping to run stand-alone craft workshops, to appeal to a variety of groups and individuals.

The Shed is open for members age 18+ and the workshop is well-equipped with wood, hand tools and woodworking machinery.

Relevant PPE will be provided. Sensible closed-toe shoes should be worn in the workshop.
