Building brighter futures

The Teesside Charity is joining forces with Spark Tees Valley  for a new project that aims to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Teesside with just fifteen minutes of your time.

Together, we are launching a volunteer programme in six pilot schools with the intention to shape children’s futures by exposing them to the working world.

From September, we’re asking our supporters to dedicate a small portion of their time and expertise to help us shape the future of children in deprived areas, by exposing them to the opportunities and roles available in later life.

All we need is your help—nothing fancy, nothing complicated. All you need to do is spare at least fifteen minutes of your time to spend it with the children and share what you do as a profession. It’s a simple act that can have a profound impact on their lives.

These visits could be as simple as a fifteen minute talk to a small group or, if you have more time, speaking at an assembly or spending a morning/afternoon visiting various classes within the school.

This initiative is more than just a volunteering effort—it is a commitment to investing in the next generation. Our goal is to inspire, educate, and empower children, providing them with the tools they need to to forge their own success in life and put an end to long term poverty.

Spark’s many years of experience working in schools can offer support to anyone volunteering, even creating some simple resources that you can use as a structure. Primary children are inquisitive, creative and funny. Your visit will be a hugely rewarding experience for you personally whilst giving the children a better chance in life.

If you would like to get involved, you can register your interest here, or if you know someone who would be interested, please share this information with them.
