Patrons of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation are joined by charity representatives in celebrating the £750,000 fundraising milestone.
Generous Teesside businesses and individuals are celebrating after reaching a £750,000 fundraising milestone in just three-and-a-half years.
Patrons of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation combine forces to support charities and community groups across the region.
To mark the £750,000 magical milestone they donated £750 to 10 more Teesside good causes.
The Foundation’s patrons voted for their favourite good causes to receive the celebration cash.
The groups they chose included Butterwick Hospice and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, South Cleveland Heart Fund, South Tees Cystic Fibrosis Centre and The Samaritans.
Other recipients of £750 were Daisy Chain, Redcar Gymnastics Club, Eston Residents Association, Middlesbrough Amateur Swimming Club and Clarences’ Residents Action Group.
Set up in 2011 with the aim of helping to make Teesside a better place to live, work and do business, the Foundation has funded apprenticeships for almost 50 young people.
It has funded the Evening Gazette’s Wish Sport project to the tune of £30,000 for each of the past three years and supported local homelessness and poverty charities, along with dozens of Teesside community organisations.
Chairman and founder Andy Preston said: “The Philanthropic Foundation has become a powerful force for good on Teesside.
“Everyone involved with the Foundation is making a real impact on the lives of local people through our support of charities, community groups and good causes.
“Raising funds purely for good causes here on Teesside is a concept that we believe is unique in the UK. We’re already looking forward to celebrating our £1 million milestone some time next year.”
In attendance to present cheques at the £750,000 fundraising celebration were several of the Foundation’s patrons.
They included Nigel Willis of First Choice Labels, Nick Mack of Macks Solicitors, Jamie Brown of The Endeavour Partnership, Paul Davison of Erimus Insurance Brokers, Barney Ord of Fairfield Industries, Emily Bentley of Evolution Business and Tax Advisors, and Emma Simkins of new patrons Henderson Insurance Broking Group.
Other patrons are Middlesbrough Football Club, Bulkhaul, Cleveland Cable Company, Ecco Finishing Supplies, Stockton Machine Company, SABIC, AV Dawson, Devereux Transport and Distribution, Glabia Nutritionals, Active Chartered Financial Consultants, Visualsoft and px Group.
