The Philanthropic Foundation now has a holiday home caravan specially adapted for those with disabilities – and we’re on the lookout for Teesside families in need of a short break.
The Foundation’s third caravan – and our first adapted for those with disabilities – is now complete and will be available for short breaks at Reighton Sands Caravan Park from the end of March.
But do you know any suitable families who deserve a break, courtesy of the Foundation? We’re asking for referrals to families who find it difficult to find a short break close to home in a holiday home adapted for their needs.
The caravan has been specially adapted with ramps, hoists, wider doorways and lower units to make it suitable for disabled bodied people.
The Philanthropic Foundation will provide all of the support for the short breaks after the purchase of our third caravan was made possible through a £50,000 legacy fund offered to us by the Finlay Cooper Fund.
Now Finlay’s Holiday Home – named after the young son former Boro footballer Colin Cooper and his wife Julie lost in a tragic choking accident – is set to bring joy to Teesside families for years to come.
We also have space for stays at our other two caravans, both available for the most disadvantaged Teesside families, though neither have been adapted for disabled bodied people or for those in wheelchairs.
