They are experts in finding homes for Teessiders but staff at Hunters Estate Agency are taking on their biggest challenge for the homeless.
Five members of the Middlesbrough-based sales and lettings agents are set to take part in the Big Tees Sleepout in the fight against local poverty and homelessness.
The third Big Tees Sleepout is being held in the grounds of Middlesbrough College on the night of Friday, April 25.
Organised by Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, funds raised will go towards food banks, soup kitchens, hostels for the homeless and others in desperate need across Teesside.
Lettings partner Georgina Evans will sleep rough for the night on April 25 along with office manager Lisa Preston, personal agents Steve McDonald and Brian Briddick, and students lettings coordinator Jordan Clayton.
Georgina said: “None of us have ever done anything like this before so we’re all a bit apprehensive. I don’t even like camping!
“We are all fortunate to be able to go home to a warm, comfy bed every night, but there are some homeless people that do this every night, while there are many others who live in hostels with no home of their own.
“Ultimately, if we can raise the profile of homelessness and poverty on Teesside whilst raising a bit of cash then it’s a sacrifice worth making.”
Among the dozens of fundraisers sleeping rough for the night are Boro legend Bernie Slaven and members of the talented Teesside group Cattle and Cain.
Those taking part in the Big Tees Sleepout are advised to bring a sleeping bag and layers of warm clothing, while there will also be access to toilets and hot drinks throughout the night.
