One of our latest donations got the royal seal of approval when Princess Anne visited The Unicorn Riding for the Disabled Centre in Middlesbrough.
We recently donated £5,000 to the Unicorn Centre in Hemlington towards a horse simulator.
Princess Anne, a long-time patron for the Riding for the Disabled Association, officially opened the Paul Conway Room which houses riding horse simulator Blackberry.
The centre provides riding lessons and therapy for children and adults, both disabled and able-bodied.
Jen Beveridge, wife of our trustee Alisdair Beveridge of the Build Directory, went along represent the Foundation at the visit.
Princess Anne presented the Inspirational Rider Award to 32-year-old Rebecca Aston, who has ridden at the centre since it opened in 1998.
She watched a demonstration by volunteers and a dressage display by two participants who successfully competed in the RDA National Championships last year.
The Princess Royal also presented rosettes to participants, volunteers and staff before meeting diploma learners and some of the centre horses.
