Stockton charity, The Moses Project, will be serving up Christmas Day dinner to some of the most disadvantaged Teessiders, thanks to support from generous local businesses.
Organisations and individuals who support Teesside Philanthropic Foundation contributed towards a £1,500 donation to the project, which supports the homeless and those struggling against drug and alcohol addiction.
Corporate law firm, the Endeavour Partnership, also contributed a donation of turkeys towards the festive fayre the Moses Project will serve up with the help of a team of big-hearted volunteers.
And the Foundation coordinated the distribution of more than 400 shoeboxes packed full of Christmas gifts and winter essentials, all donated by dozens of Teesside organisations and their staff.
Refugees, asylum seekers, the homeless and those in poverty across Teesside were the recipients of the gifts, which were donated to the Moses Project and several other community projects including Middlesbrough Council’s In Out of the Cold event for the homeless and Stockton-based charities RECIPE and A Way Out.
Those who contributed the shoebox-packed gifts included Mandale Group, PX Group, Erimus Insurance Brokers, Marton Electrical, Tilly Bailey & Irvine, Lucite International, Baldwins Solicitors, Active Chartered Financial Planners, Handelsbanken and Henderson Insurance Brokers.
Others came from Communicate, Wilton Engineering, Endeavour Partnership, AV Dawson, Castlegate Shopping Centre, Intelect, St John Brownie Group, The Fork in the Road, Emily Bentley, Anne Shields, Andrea Hutchinson, Anne King and Julie Forster, David Carter and Middlesbrough Powerchair Football Club.
The Philanthropic Foundation also shared out more than £10,000 in cash and toys to the local branches of the Salvation Army and Teesside foodbanks. The toys were distributed to the local Salvation Army branches by Foundation patrons First Choice Labels.
