Almost 50 big-hearted Teessiders gave up their comfy beds for a night sleeping on the cold hard floor outside Middlesbrough College at our 16th Big Tees Sleepout event to raise money and awareness for the ongoing issue of homelessness and poverty here on Teesside.
A big well done to all those who took part and braved the cold temperatures on 14 October raising an impressive £7,800. With the incredible support from this community, we have now raised over £200,000 since our first Big Tees Sleepout in 2013.
Our thanks are sent to Middlesbrough College for allowing us to use their venue and keeping us safe during the night, the college staff Julie King, Emma Clarke and Alister Wrigley for all their help leading up to the event and Brian Jones for coming along to chat to everyone about the great work they do at The Moses Project.
We would like to say a special thank you to those who brought along toiletries to be donated to The Moses Project on the night.
The funds raised will go towards stocking local food banks, providing support to homeless organisations like The Moses Project and providing children’s presents to the Salvation Army Toy Appeal.
Thank you to all who took part and those who kindly sponsored them!
