The Teesside Charity Annual Ball raises £63,500 for local causes!

Published on: 13th October 2022

We celebrated our Annual Ball this year at Hardwick Hall Hotel’s Grand Marquee. Thanks to the donations of our generous supporters, we raised an incredible £63,500 for worthy local causes.

Held in association with headline sponsors Parker Barras, guests were entertained by local band Storm and included a surprise flash mob featuring Emily Bentley as Freddie Mercury, Jane Reynolds MBE and Caroline Theobald OBE as Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA, Karl Pemberton and Kenton Bazeley as PJ and Duncan and Martyn Pullin as Lionel Richie.

Guests of the ball watched a video about The Moses Project and heard from Brian Jones, CEO of The Moses Project, to find out what’s next for the charity that supports adult males who are homeless or with past and current addictions to alcohol and drugs. You can watch the video here.

Lee Bramley, chair of Trustees, said: “The ball is an integral part of our annual fundraising activity and it is great to see the support we receive in sponsorship, donations and pledges. It is also an opportunity for our supporters to celebrate the achievements of the charity together. As a region, we should take pride in the difference we are able to make through The Teesside Charity which provides a catalyst to support so many good causes. I hope our guests enjoyed the evening and I thank each and every supporter who helps us make Teesside a better place to live, work and do business.”

“A fantastic £63,500 was raised at the black-tie event, with all monies going directly to help struggling Teesside families and local worthy causes.”

The guests were as supportive as ever as they gave generously in the event’s auctions, with the live auction raising £13,200 and the silent auction raising £13,000. Prizes on the night included a luxury stay in a stunning converted chapel on the North Yorkshire coastline donated by The SDDE Smith Group, a trip to Belfast for four flights kindly donated by Teesside International Airport and hotel stay donated by Patrick and Frances Connolly. As well as a bespoke made-to-order weekender duffle bag kindly donated by Coupland Leather.

Other fundraising items were donated by Emirus Insurance Brokers and The Endeavour Partnership, Resolution, Revelry Spirits, Mandale Group, Ian and Jayne Gordan, Hilton Hotel Northampton, Paul Card Recruitment, Wilton Group, Anderson Barrowcliff, Middlesbrough Golf Club, Amanda Bell, Café Lilli, Alisdair Beveridge, Inbond, Causeway, Hallgarth Manor, Charity Escapes, Pinchinthorpe Hall, Joe Cornish, Nick Dent, Michael Cartwright Photography, Julie Foster-Walker, Ramsdens, Bulkhaul, ECCO. Summarising the event, charity manager, Diane Williamson said:

“Our supporters always get behind the ball with tables selling quickly and this year was no different.”

“We always try to offer something new and this year’s flashmob went down really well. The participants did a great job of learning their steps and keeping it a secret! There were so many elements of the evening that are memorable this year, especially for me.”
